FRIDAY’S SEA DOGS GAME POSTPONED

Doubleheader Scheduled for May 22 @ 1:00 PM

 

Portland, MaineFriday’s Eastern League contest between the Portland Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder scheduled for 6:00 PM has been postponed due to rain.  The game will be made-up as part of a single admission doubleheader on Saturday, May 22nd at 1:00 PM.

 

Fans with tickets to the April 16th rain out, may exchange their tickets for tickets of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2010 Sea Dogs home game, subject to availability.  Any questions regarding rained out tickets may be directed to the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or tickets@seadogs.com.

 

The Portland Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder will play a single-admission doubleheader, consisting of two seven inning games on Saturday, May 22nd at 1:00 PM.  Tickets dated May 22nd are good for both games of the doubleheader.  April 16th tickets are NOT good for this game and must be exchanged at the Hadlock Field Ticket Office.

 

This is the Sea Dogs’ first postponement at Hadlock Field this season. 

 

The Sea Dogs return to action Saturday (April 17) at 1:00 PM at Hadlock Field against the Trenton Thunder (Yankees).  The first 2,500 fans to enter the gate will receive a 2010 Sea Dogs’ Schedule Magnet, courtesy of Paul G. White Interior Solutions.

 

Tickets are available for all remaining 2010 Sea Dogs’ home games.  Tickets can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs Ticket Office at 207-879-9500 or online at www.seadogs.com

‘DOGS THUNDER STRUCK: Trenton grabbed the series opener from the Sea Dogs on
Thursday night, 4-2 in 11-innings, spoiling the home opener for Portland…LF Damon Sublett provided the game-winning
hit with a 2-run homer off losing pitcher RHP Ryne Lawson (0-1)… All-Time Opening Days at Hadlock: Portland is 8-9 on opening days in Maine and
has dropped four straight, including losses to Connecticut (2009) and the New
Britain Rock Cats (2007 & 2008).

BOTH WITH TWO OUTS: Portland scored both runs with
two outs in consecutive innings off LHP Jeremy
Bleich
…DH Jason Place followed
SS Jose Iglesias’ double with a
run-scoring single and 3B Yamaico
Navarro
drove in 1B Lars Anderson
in the sixth inning after Anderson initiated a 2-out rally with a double.

ALMOST QUALITY: Portland starters have worked at least 5 innings in six of eight
games to start the season…LHP Felix
Doubront
(4 IP) and RHP Casey Kelly
(2 IP) failed to work five frames…Last night’s starter RHP Kyle Weiland yielded four hits, two runs, three walks and fanned
six over 5 IP.

FINDING THE RIGHT PLACE: OF Jason Place
leads the team with 8 RBI, despite going 4-for-29 (.138) in eight games to
start the season…Place picked up his first Double-A triple in New Britain and
smacked a 3-run homer last Sunday against the Reading Phillies…The Sea Dogs hit
8 homers during their 7-day roadtrip.

OH THE RIVARLY:
The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder met in the Eastern League playoffs in four
consecutive seasons from 2005-08…Portland beat Trenton in the 2005 & 06
Northern Division Championship Series but Trenton returned the favor with
series victories the following two years and went on to win the Eastern League
Championship Series against the Akron Aeros, 3 games to 1 in both series
finals.

Romine
is the #2 prospect in the Yankees’ system according to Baseball
America…Romine is the son of former Red Sox OF Kevin Romine, who
appeared in 331 games with Boston from 1985-91, hitting 5 career homers with
the Sox.
