What a series
Tonight the Sea Dogs open up a 3-game series against the Binghamton Mets at Hadlock Field. Portland completed a 3-game sweep of the Rock Cats over the weekend, including a 2-1 victory on Sunday. Portland’s pitchers allowed one hit on the day, but the story was the start of Kyle Weiland, who worked five perfect innings. Robert Colleo relieve Weiland in the sixth and worked a perfect frame, but Ben Revere was hit-by-a-pitch to lead off the seventh. The lone hit was a single by Juan Portes with two outs in the seventh inning. The last time Portland allowed one hit as a team came on May 7, 2008 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at Hadlock Field.
