THESE GUYS AGAIN?: Tonight, the Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) open up a 5-game series in four days from New Britain Stadium…Portland has dropped 5 of 8 to the Rock Cats this season, including 2 of 3 in Connecticut…Brock Huntzinger makes his fourth start against the ‘Cats and Daniel Osterbrock is making his second straight start against Portland.

AT LEAST IT WASN’T A NO-NO: Joel Carreno (1-3) hurled seven scoreless innings on one hit, three walks and seven strikeouts, leading the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 3-0 win over Portland Wednesday morning at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium…Evan Crawford (hold) and Alan Farina (save) completed the shutout with scoreless frames…Michael Lee (1-3) suffered the tough luck loss, yielding only two runs, two hits over six innings…Mike McDade blasted a two-run homer off Lee in the fourth, and Jeremy Kehrt surrendered a run-scoring single to Yan Gomes in the seventh.

ONE-HIT WONDER: Chih-Hsien Chiang had Portland’s lone hit on Wednesday, a one-out single in the third inning…Portland’s last time being one-hit was June 28, 2010 at Hadlock Field to the Harrisburg Senators…Anthony Rizzo broke up the no-hitter with a one-out double in the ninth inning…Ironically, Kehrt also pitched in that game, but made the start, allowing one run over 5 IP.

NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL QUALITY: Portland’s starters (Stephen Fife, Stolmy Pimentel and Lee) all had quality starts in the New Hampshire series, compiling these number: 1-1, 1.00 ERA (2 ER/18 IP), 8 hits, 4 walks and 10 strikeouts…Dating back to Sunday, the starters have allowed three earned runs in 23.1 IP (1.16 ERA).

WILL SIX BE LUCKY?: Portland has lost all five series on the road, and have dropped 12 of 15 games away from Hadlock Field…New Britain is only 6-6 at home, but 12-7 on the road.

YES, HE’S HUMAN: Alex Hassan is just 3-for-26 (.115) in his last six games and now ranks second in the Eastern League in average at .352…New Britain’s Yangervis Solarte is pacing the E.L with a .364 average, which is the second best mark in Double-A (San Antonio’s James Darnell is hitting .366)…Hassan has the eighth best average in Double-A.

WHAT’S ON DECK: Tomorrow, the Sea Dogs and New Britain Rock Cats continue their five-game series in four days from New Britain Stadium…The two teams play a doubleheader on Saturday night beginning at 5:35 PM…Then, Portland will return home for a stretch with 12 home games in 15 days, including a doubleheader on May 28th against the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate).
