Lin moving up, a speedster added
On Saturday night when we got back to the hotel, Che-Hsuan Lin hugged every single person on the bus, including the radio guy and the bus driver. It’s always a happy moment when a player gets moved up. The guys were so excited for Che-Hsuan, who appeared in 153 games with the Sea Dogs over the last two years. Outfielder Jeremy Hazelbaker was added to the roster today from High-A Salem. Last season, Hazelbaker stole 63 bases, the most in the Red Sox system since 1981. The former standout at Ball State leads off for Portland in tonight’s game against Trenton. Hazelbaker is wearing number two and will play centerfield.
Portland is a season-high 13 games under .500, and has dropped 17 of 20 on the road. Tomorrow is the final meeting between the two rivals at Waterfront Park this season.
Trenton notes…Craig Heyer was activated from the disabled list before the game and makes the start in tonight’s game…OF Austin Krum was promoted to Triple-A Scranton – so that means both lead-off hitters in last night’s game are in Triple-A a day later.
On the Bruins’ loss — They had the game on the video board at the ballpark. Anytime you have a 3-0 lead in hockey and lose, it’s tough to swallow. But, I look at it this way, there’s a reason both teams are in the finals. Let’s go back to Game 3 against Montreal. Boston loses the first two games at home, and were trailing 3-1 in Game 3, but managed a comeback, and the rest is history. But, the chance for a 3-1 lead was getting me excited.
On the broadcast tonight…Part 3 of DJ Abisilah’s conversation with Reading pitcher Phillippe Aumont. DJ does a great job with the interviews.
