Why does baseball feel new every year?

Actually I don’t have a clue.  Maybe you can send me a reason at seadogs@gmail.com and let me know.   On Thursday afternoon, when my broadcast begins, I’ll begin my 16th season as a play-by-play broadcaster in minor league baseball.  There hasn’t been a season that I don’t get giddy, nervous and just super excited.  It must mean I really love what I do – but I didn’t have to tell you that.

Right?  There’s just something about this game, maybe it’s the sign of good weather, I don’t have the answers.  Maybe this is too deep of a subject, but intrigues me how baseball feels so brand new every season.  I don’t think that will ever stop, and I hope it doesn’t.  There’s a lot of excitement for this season in Portland, and I hope all the teams in the Red Sox system succeed.

I talked with Chris on the bus, since there was some bad weather in Texas.  He showed some softball-size hail, that plummeted through windshields.

Our first bus trip was fun, despite behind close to nine hours, everyone was having fun with their Ipads, laptops or taking a nap.  I can’t believe I actually on a smartphone, laptop and Ipad.  I must say, the Ipad is very cool.
