Final game before the break

Mike MacDonald left yesterday’s game with a leg injury, lasting only 2/3 of a inning, but he did become the first Mainer to play for the Sea Dogs.

THIS IS IT…: The Sea Dogs wrap up their six-game road trip tonight with the finale of a three game series against the Trenton Thunder…The trip is the final one before the Eastern League All Star Game…Aaron Kurcz (replaces teammate Chris Hernandez), Bryce Brentz, and Reynaldo Rodriguez will make the trip to Reading to participate in the All-Star Game.

HOWEVER BRIEF, HISTORY WAS MADE: Camden, Maine native Mike MacDonald made his first start in the Red Sox system yesterday in Trenton…MacDonald was the first Maine native to play for the Sea Dogs…The right-hander pitched just two-thirds of the first inning in yesterday’s ball game before leaving with an injury…Additionally, MacDonald was the third University of Maine Black Bear to play for the Sea Dogs in franchise history, joining Pete Fisher (2005) and Rusty Tucker (2006).
