BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN: The Sea Dogs have won five straight series at Hadlock Field, and 10 of their last 11…Tonight Portland opens up a six-game homestand against the Altoona Curve (Pirates affiliate)…The Sea Dogs are 7-5 during a 15-game stretch against the Western Division…With a win tonight, the ‘Dogs clinch a winning record against the west this season…Portland has won four straight games at Hadlock Field.
FIELD(S) OF DREAMS: Erie’s Daniel Fields led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a solo-homer (3-1 count) off Brock Huntzinger (3-5), giving the Erie SeaWolves a 5-4 win on Saturday night. Portland scored in the first inning, taking a 1-0 lead on a Bryce Brentz RBI double to left-center field. Erie responded with four runs off Maine native Mike MacDonald. Avisail Garcia capped off the scoring with a three-run homer to left field. The Sea Dogs tied the game in the fourth inning on a two-out homer by Ryan Dent – his third of the season. Jason Urquidez relieved MacDonald and worked three scoreless innings on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts. Rob Waite pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first win of the season.

CONTINUING TO LEAD THE WAY: Jackie Bradley Jr. has hit safely in 35 of 50 starts (reached in 41 of 50) with Portland…The Richmond, Virginia native is leading all Red Sox Minor Leaguers with a .320 batting average (138-for-431) between Salem and Portland with 9 homers and 57 RBI…Is ranked among minor league hitters in the following categories: 2nd in doubles (40) and 8th in walks (80)…Jeremy Hazelbaker and Travis Shaw have 17 homers, which is second in the organization, behind Mauro Gomez’s 24.
TEENAGER ON THE ROSTER: 19-year old Xander Bogaerts made his Double-A debut Thursday and has six hits, including a home run and two doubles, since his promotion from the Salem Red Sox…Bogaerts is ranked the #2 prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America…In 104 games with Salem, the Aruban native hit .302 (116-for-384) with 15 homers and 64 RBI…Also had 27 double and three triples.
