Can’t believe there’s four left…History at Hadlock Field?
The Sea Dogs are down to their final four games, opening up a four-game series against the Reading Phillies at Hadlock Field….Reading needs a win tonight and a New Britain loss to clinch the final playoff spot in the Eastern League.
Portland needs three wins to establish a new franchise record for home wins under the Red Sox affiliation. Could there be history at Hadock Field? If DH Darrin Ruf homers tonight, he’ll have 21 this month, establishing a new professional baseball record. Sammy Sosa hit 20 in June of 1998. Nice gesture by broadcast partner Dan Acheson. He thought it would be nice to have DJ Abisalah work with me tonight. DJ has been part of the broadcast team since 2006, and produces the game at the station when Dan joins me in the booth. I can’t say how much these two guys mean to me – more than just co-workers. They’re great people and friends for life.
