‘DOGS AND ‘CATS PART 3: The Sea Dogs open up a six-game homestand on Tuesday night against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) at Hadlock Field…The two teams are meeting for the third series this season and the second in Maine…Portland took three of four from the Fisher Cats in their previous home series…RHP Matt Barnes (3-1, 4.50) makes his 10th start of the season and his second straight against New Hampshire…Barnes is the Top Pitching Prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America.

THAT WAS A WILD FINISH: Jeremy Kehrt (0-1) uncorked wild pitch on 1-2 count to Cory Vaughn with two outs in the ninth, scoring Josh Rodriguez from third base, and giving the Binghamton Mets a 6-5 walk-off win Monday afternoon…Portland rallied from a 4-2 deficit to scored three runs in the eighth inning but the Mets came right back to tie the game on a sacrifice fly by Joe BonfeBrandon Workman tied a season-high with nine strikeouts over six innings pitched…Michael Almanzar, Heiker Meneses, Matt Spring and Kolbrin Vitek each had RBI’s in the loss.

PRETTY TOUGH WITH MEN ON BASE: The B-Mets won the final three games of the series and went 0 for their last 30 with runners-in-scoring position…Opponents are batting .237 with runners-in-scoring position against Portland this season…Portland went 5-for-13 with RISP yesterday and 13-for-39 (.333) in the four-game set…Tony Thomas is the team leader with runners-in-scoring position at .389 (21-for-54).

ALL HAD ONE: Portland’s lineup had at least one hit on Monday afternoon, picking up 13 hits, their most since May 18th against Binghamton at Hadlock Field…With yesterday’s loss, the Sea Dogs will finish under .500 on the road in May, and they lost their first game when leading after eight innings (21-1).
