SATURDAY IN THE PARK: The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) continue their three-game series on Saturday night from Arm & Hammer Park…Portland split a four-game set in Reading to begin the trip, and improved to 9-1 in road-series finales…Portland is 0-6-2 in their last eight series…The ‘Dogs last series win came on May 20-23 at Hadlock Field, taking three of four from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats…Lefty Drake Britton is 3-0, 0.41 ERA (ER/22.0 IP) this month.

ONE INNING, BUT A BIG ONE: Trenton had nine consecutive hits during a nine-run sixth, and beat the Portland Sea Dogs 9-2 on Friday night in the series opener…The Thunder sent 13 men to the plate, picking up 10 hits and a walk…Scottie Allen tossed six strong innings on three hits and one run to earn the win in his Double-A debut…Drake Britton (6-6) was saddled with the loss, giving up seven hits on eight runs over 5.1 IP…Britton was hitless over 5 innings until the sixth…Jose Pirela went 3-for-4 with a 3-run homer and a double…Carmen Angelini added a two-run double…All nine starters for Trenton had at least one hit.

WELCOME TO PORTLAND: INF Garin Cecchini went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in his final at-bat against Rigaberto Arrebato (save)…Cecchini was leading the Carolina League with a .350 average before his promotion on Friday.

STAYS CONSISTENT: INF Michael Almanzar gave Portland a 1-0 lead with a run-scoring single in the first inning…Almanzar leads the team in RBI with 49, which ranks third in the Eastern League behind Bowie’s Caleb Joseph (52) and Akron’s Jesus Aguilar (56).

THAT’S A SEASON HIGH: OF Matty Johnson extended his season-high hitting streak to five games by going 1-for-4 last night with a run scored…Johnson is hitting .333 (7-for-21) during the streak…OF Shannon Wilkerson was 0-for-1 last night drew a season-high three walks – 1B Travis Shaw leads the team with 42.

IT’S BEEN A WHILE: Trenton’s nine-run sixth inning is the most allowed by Portland since the Thunder scored 12 runs in third inning at Hadlock Field on August 19, 2004.
