PLAYING THE BEST: The Portland Sea Dogs continue their three-game series with the Binghamton Mets on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field…Portland is 0-7-2 in their last nine series…The ‘Dogs last series win came on May 20-23 at Hadlock Field, taking three of four from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats…The B-Mets own the best record in the Eastern League and have won 21 of 27 since a 3-2, 10-inning win against the Sea Dogs on May 25th at NYSEG Stadium.

NO HOMECOOKING: RHP Erik Goeddel (7-2) tosses seven scoreless innings on six hits, one walk and seven strikeouts, leading the Binghamton Mets to a 3-0 win over the Sea Dogs in the series opener…Anthony Ranaudo (7-2) took his first loss since May 7th, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits over 6 IP…Cesar Puello went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a double…Xorge Carillo knocked in the first run with a run-scoring single in the second…Jeff Walters struck out the side in the ninth to earn his league-leading 18th season of the season…3B Garin Cecchini went 2-for-4 in his Hadlock Field debut.

KEHRT(AIN) CALL: RHP Jeremy Kehrt worked three strong innings of relief last night, recording a season-high five strikeouts…Kehrt gave up one run on three hits and one walk…He returned to Portland after recording his first Triple-A save on June 20th at Columbus.

NICE DEBUT: Cecchini had two hits in his Hadlock Field debut on Monday night, and has hit safely in three of four starts with a multi-hit game in consecutive starts…The Louisiana native is leading all Red Sox Minor Leaguers with a .348 (80-for-230) in 67 games between High-A Salem and Portland.

ACTUALLY WENT DOWN: Ranaudo’s ERA dropped to 2.28 after last night’s performance, which still leads the Eastern League and all Red Sox Minor League pitchers…Last night was his seventh quality start of the season.

WAS HIS BEST: RHP Miguel Celestino worked three scoreless frames on Sunday, allowing one hit and tying a season-high with four strikeouts…The outing was the best for Celestino in his 21 Double-A appearances…Lefty Rafael Perez preserved the team’s seven shutout with a scoreless ninth.

WHAT’S ON DECK: Portland and Binghamton conclude their three-game series on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field…The ‘Dogs are 3-5 during a 38-game stretch against the Eastern Division…On Thursday night, the Sea Dogs head back on the road to take on the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) from Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.
