BACK TO NORMAL: The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Mets play game two of their five-game series on Friday night at NYSEG Stadium…The two teams will technically play six games in four days, after making up June 25th’s suspended game last night prior to game one of the roadtrip…Portland has dropped 21 of 36 since June 1st, but still holds a ½ game lead for the second playoff spot in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division…RHP Keith Couch (3-0 as a starter) makes his seventh start of the season for the ‘Dogs on Friday night.

ONE NOW, ONE BEFORE: Binghamton won the suspended game from June 25th 6-5, giving them a two-game sweep at Hadlock Field from June 24-25…In the nightcap, the B-Mets shutout the ‘Dogs 4-0 in seven innings…Trailing 6-1 in the opener, the ‘Dogs scored four runs in the seventh, including three with two outs…Tony Thomas and Shannon Wilkerson had back-to-back run-scoring doubles…In game two, Binghamton tossed a 4-hit shutout, using four pitchers…Cesar Puello (2 RBI) and Josh Rodriguez (RBI) each went 3-for-4…Daniel Muno went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

IT EXTENDED, BUT THEN ENDED: Garin Cecchini reached base safely in his first 17 games in Double-A, but that streak was snapped in game two…The Louisiana native has 100 hits in 81 game between High-Salem and Portland, and leads all Red Sox minor leaguers with a .358 average.

MAKES IS THREE: Cecchini was added to the Future’s Game last night, and joins fellow Red Sox Minor Leaguers Xander Bogaerts and Anthony Ranaudo…Ranaudo took the loss in the Eastern League All-Star game and is expected to pitch in the Future’s Game…Cecchini is replacing Joey Gallo.

WE KNOW EACH OTHER: The Boston Red Sox signed former New Britain Rock Cats RHP Bobby Lanigan as a minor league free agent earlier today, and assigned him to Portland…Couch and Lanigan were teammates at Adelphi University…Lanigan was released by the Minnesota Twins on June 28th, he was 3-1, 3.77 ERA in 23 games with the ‘Cats.

ONE MORE: RHP Matty Ott has joined Portland’s bullpen from High-A Salem…Ott and Ranaudo were teammates at LSU…The right-hander was 3-4, 3.59 ERA in 24 games with High-A Salem.

WHAT’S ON DECK: The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Mets play a doubleheader to continue their five-game series at NYSEG Stadium…The Sea Dogs are 10-12 during a 38-game stretch against the Eastern Division…On Monday, Portland’s second half of the trip swings to Manchester, New Hampshire.
