WE PLAY TWO AGAIN: The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Mets have played 29 innings in two nights, and resume their five-game series on Saturday night with a twinbill at NYSEG Stadium…Last night was the third longest game in franchise history for the ‘Dogs, lasting 5 hours and 2 minutes…Portland’s longest game was 5 hours and 41 minutes on April 16, 2008 against the Connecticut Defenders, also their longest game by innings at 17, the second longest game time was 5:30 on July 2, 2006 against Trenton.

HAPPENED BEFORE: INF Ryan Dent became the second position player in franchise history to earn a win…Dent pitched two scoreless innings on two hits, two walks and a strikeout, as the ‘Dogs beat the Binghamton Mets 8-5 in 15-innings…Portland scored three runs with two outs in the 15th inning, all the runs were unearned due to a throwing error by 3B Josh Rodriguez, which would have ended the inning…The error scored the winning run, followed by a wild pitch for the seventh run and a run-scoring single by 1B Michael Almanzar…Portland’s bullpen allowed two unearned runs over 9 IP.

NICE DEBUT BY THE NEW GUYS: Relievers Bobby Lanigan and Matty Ott were assigned to Portland before yesterday’s game…Portland led 5-3 in the ninth inning, but an error by SS Heiker Meneses led to 2 unearned runs on Lanigan’s line….The former Rock Cats reliever worked three innings on three hits, two runs (unearned), two walks and two strikeouts…Ott retired the first 10 batters faced in his Double-A debut, working four scoreless innings on one hit and two strikeouts.
