The Sea Dogs and Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) conclude their three-game series on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field…Red Sox Catcher David Ross continues his 2-game MLB Rehab Assignment with Portland.
Ross was placed on the disabled list on June 18th after suffering a concussion. He has appeared in 23 games for the Red Sox this season hitting .185 (12-for-65) with four home runs and six RBI. Ross is an 11 year Major League veteran having spent time with the Dodgers, Pirates, Padres, Reds, Braves, and Red Sox. He signed with the Red Sox as a free agent on November 14, 2012.

TOUGH FINISH: Bowie scored four runs in the ninth inning off losing pitcher Matt Maloney (1-1) to grab game two of the series 9-6…The Baysox received four straight RBI at-bats with one out in the ninth…Kyle Hudson tied the game with a single and Trayvon Robinson provided the game-winning RBI with a double…Buck Britton added a run-scoring triple and Caleb Joseph capped off the scoring with a sac-fly…Christian Vazquez went 2-for-4, knocking two runs with two outs…RF Matty Johnson finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base…RHP Oliver Drake (3-0) earned the win for Bowie.
CLEANING UP: Red Sox Catcher David Ross batted fourth last night for Portland as the DH, going 0-for-2 with an RBI ground out…Ross will finish out his Major League Rehab Assignment this afternoon.
SEEMS LIKE TWO HITS EVERYDAY: Vazquez has a multi-hit game in six of his last eight starts and enters today’s game with a 9-game hitting streak: 16-for-35 (.457)…The Portland catcher is hitting .441 this month, which ranks second in Double-A…Michael Almanzar and J.C. Linares each had two hits last night.
THAT WAS NUMBER ONE: Johnson picked up his second career 4-hit game last night…He had four hits while a member of the Lowell Spinners on June 24, 2011 vs. Tri-City…INF Derrik Gibson had four hits in the series opener.
