The Sea Dogs and Altoona Curve (Pirates affiliate) meet for the final time this season on Thursday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field…Last night, the ‘Dogs fell 6-5 in 12 innings, and dropped to 7-8 in extra-inning games, the most in the Eastern League.

FINISHING OUT TURN ONE: The Sea Dogs and Altoona Curve (Pirates affiliate) meet for the final time this season on Thursday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field…Portland is playing their ninth rubber game of the season, dropping five of six at home, but winning their lone road-rubber game on the road, April 17th at Binghamton…RHP Terry Doyle makes his eighth start with the Sea Dogs this season and his first against the Curve…Last night was Portland’s league-leading 15th extra-inning game this season.
CURVE WIN IN 12: LF Mel Rojas Jr. delivered a two-out RBI single in the 12th inning, giving the Altoona Curve a 6-5 walk-off win in 12-innings over the Sea Dogs on Wednesday night…SS Deven Marrero finished 3-for-4, 3 RBI, giving the Sea Dogs the lead twice and tying the game in the seventh…LF Ryan Dent had three hits for the second straight game, as the ‘Dogs tied a season-high with 19 hits…2B Derrik Gibson finished 3-for-5 with a walk, as Portland received a multi-hit game from seven of nine starters…SS Alen Hanson and CF Gregory Polanco each homered and drove in two runs apiece for the Curve.
NICE ADJUSMENT: Marrero has back-to-back multi-hit games to start his Double-A career, going 5-for-8 with 3 RBI and a walk…The Davie, Florida native is ranked the #10 prospect in the Red Sox system according to Baseball America and MLB.com.
ALMOST A BAKER’S DOZEN: Catcher Christian Vazquez extended his team-high hitting streak to 11 games by going 2-for-6 last night…Vazquez’s hit streak is the longest by a Sea Dog since Jeremy Hazelbaker’s 13-game hitting streak from July 28-August 14, 2012.
BATS HEADING UP: Portland leads the Eastern League with a .302 average this month, scoring 60 runs in 12 games…Vazquez is hitting .409 (18-for-44) with 7 RBI and two doubles this month…OF J.C. Linares has hit safely in 10 of 11 games this month, batting .360 with 2 homers and 9 RBI.
