Game Notes for today…Complete Notes at seadogs.com

THAT’S THERE BEST: The Sea Dogs are 11 games over .500, for the first time since August 20, 2008 (69-58), and look for a sweep of their three-game series with the Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) on Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field…Portland has one sweep in Maine this year, but it was a one-game series against the Binghamton Mets on April 14…RHP Mike Augliera looks to snap a three-game losing streak this afternoon…He took a no-decision against the Thunder on April 26th at Hadlock Field (Portland won 9-8, 15-innings).

CLUTCH, CLUTCH AND CLUTCH: 1B Travis Shaw snapped a 3-3 tie with a game-winning homer in eighth inning and 2B Mookie Betts made the defensive play of the game, lifting the Sea Dogs to a 4-3 win over the Trenton Thunder…In the ninth with the bases loaded and one out, Betts made a diving catch on a line drive hit by 2B Rob Refsnyder, but got to his feet and nabbed Taylor Dugas at second base to end the game…LHP Robby Scott (5-1) tossed 2.2 scoreless on one hit and a season-high four strikeouts to earn the win…RHP Jose Valdez worked out of a bases-loaded nobody out jam in the ninth.

#MOOKIE MADNESS:2B Mookie Betts had his on-base streak snapped at 66 games (71 including the 2013 playoffs, but that does not count towards tying a record) on yesterday, going 0-for-4, but Betts knocked in two runs…He reached base safely in his first 36 Double-A starts, the 5th longest on-base streak in franchise history…The 66-game on-base streak began on August 2, 2013 with the High-A Salem Red Sox…Betts’ .383 average is the 2nd highest in Minor League Baseball behind Gregory Polanco of Triple-A Indianapolis…he’s also reached safely in 129 of his last 140 games (dating back to May 5, 2013).

GREAT SCOTT: Scott has earned a win in three straight decisions and is scoreless in nine of 10 outings this season…The lefty’s five wins are tied with Keith Couch, Gabriel Arias (Akron) and Tyler Wilson (Bowie) for the most victories in the Eastern League…Couch’s 2.56 ERA is the fourth best in the league.

CRAZY EIGHTS: SS Deven Marrero has three straight multi-hit games and a season-high 8-game hitting streak…Marrero has raised his average 30 points during the streak and has 11 multi-hit games – tied for the third most on the team.

SOMEBODY SAVE ME: Valdez picked up his third save of the season on Saturday…Valdez fanned CF Ben Gamel, before inducing the double play.
