Earlier today, INF/OF Mookie Betts was promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket. Now, there’s so much on twitter and in blogs about Mookie the baseball player. I was privileged to get to know Markus Lynn Betts. For 21-years old, he handled himself like a true professional and was simply, a terrific person. I enjoyed talking to him about everything, not just baseball. He’s a great teammate and loved by the entire team. I know he’ll make quite an impression on the PawSox. Last year it was Xander Bogaerts, this year it’s #MookieMadness. We’ve had some terrific players come through Portland. Just think, last year at this time, did we think that Bogaerts and RHP Brandon Workman would end up helping the Red Sox in the World Series? You just never know what can happen. The Red Sox have produced some amazing talent, and there’s a lot more waiting in the wings to help the Pawtucket Red Sox and Boston down the road.
