EARLY RUNS, GREAT PITCHING: Portland scored three in the first off losing pitcher LHP Joely Rodriguez (3-5) and LHP Brian Johnson tossed six strong innings, as the ‘Dogs beat the Curve 5-1…Johnson notched his fifth quality start of the season, working six innings on four hits, one run and six strikeouts…CF Derrik Gibson finished with three hits, a walk and a sacrifice bunt…Portland received an RBI from five different players and seven of nine starters reached base safely…DH David Chester went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring single in his Double-A debut.
