I can’t imagine being a professional broadcaster without my dad. When I was a young fan, my dad put me on his lap and pointed to the TV and said “That’s Captain Carl.” Of course referring to Yaz. I was hooked to baseball right away, and always wanted to be part of it for the rest of my life. Still do this day, we have the best baseball talks.  I’m so blessed to do what I do, and share that with my dad – that’s the best gift of all.

Henry Owens set the franchise record with 27.2 scoreless innings last night. The streak was snapped on Joe Wendle’s RBI single in the sixth.

Portland closes out their three-game series in Akron this afternoon at 2:05 PM…the third leg of the trip continues tomorrow night at 7:05 PM against the Erie SeaWolves (Tigers affiliate) from Jerry Uht Park.
