The Sea Dogs look for a four-game split of their weekend series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium…LHP Brian Johnson (8-2, 2.51) makes his 14th start of the season for the Sea Dogs on Sunday afternoon.

In case you missed it last night, LHP Henry Owens became the first 13-game winner in professional baseball, and the first to win 13 games as a Red Sox affiliate…Owens has won nine straight starts, establishing a new franchise record, originally set by Adam Mills back in 2009.

LOOKING FOR THE SPLIT: The Sea Dogs look for the split of their four-game series with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium…Portland snapped a seven-game road losing streak with last night’s win…The ‘Dogs clinched the season series with the ‘Cats, and reduced their magic number to 29 to clinch a playoff spot in the Eastern Division…LHP Brian Johnson notched his first career complete game on July 12th (Game 1) vs. New Hampshire at Hadlock Field.

13 IS LUCKY: LHP Henry Owens (13-3) became the first 13-game winner in professional baseball and his battery mate Blake Swihart homered and drove in four runs, leading the Sea Dogs to a 10-3 win on Saturday night…Portland scored in just three innings, putting together back-to-back four-run frames in the third and fourth…Swihart capped off the third with a three-run homer off losing pitcher LHP Daniel Norris (1-1)…Shannon Wilkerson finished 3-for-5 with 3 RBI and Ryan Dent went 3-for-4, RBI…Owens worked 6.1 innings on nine hits, two runs, one walk and six strikeouts.

RANKING THE ‘DOGS: The Top 5 winning percentages (Full-Season Clubs) in Minor League Baseball: Low-A Kane County 64-34 (.653)and Low-A Asheville 64-34 (.653), Low-A Savannah 61-33 (.649), Portland 64-36 (.640) and Low-A Greensboro 64-36 (.640)…The Red Sox have the 10th best record as an organization in the minors at 262-234 (.528).

PILING UP THE RECORDS: Owens’ 13 wins are the most in a single season as a Red Sox affiliate (Michael Tejera in 1999 and Tony Saunders in 1996 as a Marlins affiliate)…The lefty set a franchise record by winning his ninth consecutive start (streak began on May 24th at New Hampshire)…Adam Mills had the previous record, winning eight straight starts from June 27-August 6, 2009…Owens leads the Eastern League in the following categories: ERA (2.25), Wins, SO (117), CG (3), SHO (2), WHIP (1.09) and AVGA (.193)

THAT WAS A SEASON HIGH: Swihart had a career-high 4 RBI last night, picking up his team-leading 11th homer of the season…Dent had a season high three hits, collecting an RBI and scored two runs.

MOST IN A WHILE: Last night was the most runs scored by the Sea Dogs since a 13-9 win on June 29th at Reading…Portland is leading the league in runs scored with 525 and team average at .280.
