Eastern League All-Star Game is back in Portland, Maine
At 1:30 PM today, the Sea Dogs announced the 2015 Eastern League All-Star Game will take place at Hadlock Field…Few tidbits on the game. Here’s the full release
The Eastern League All-Star break will result in two days of All-Star festivities in Portland on Tuesday, July 14th and Wednesday, July 15th including a home run derby, autograph sessions, fireworks, and much more. A full schedule of events and festivities will be announced at a later time.
This will mark the second time that the Sea Dogs have hosted the Eastern League All-Star Game, having previously hosted the event in 2005. In 2005 the game sold out before the Sea Dogs 2005 season opened in April.

LET’S PLAY TWO: The Sea Dogs and Reading Fightin Phils continue their four-game series with a twinbill on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field…Portland is 5-1-3 in doubleheaders this season – their only loss on July 9th at Binghamton…With a win in game one, the ‘Dogs will go 30 games over .500 for the second time this season, with a sweep, they’ll improve to 31 games over .500 for the first time since 1995…Portland needs just one more win at home this season to clinch winning record at Hadlock Field.
27 UP, 27 DOWN…KINDA: RHP Mike Augliera (5-9) tossed eight scoreless frames on two hits and four strikeouts and LHP Robby Scott closed out the win with a perfect ninth, as the Sea Dogs took the opener from the Fightin Phils, 2-0 on Monday night…Augliera and Scott faced the minimum 27 batters, receiving double plays in the fourth and eighth innings…C Blake Swihart had a one-out homer in the first and David Chester led off the second with his fifth homer of the season…Portland has won five straight games from Reading and 11 of 15 on the season.
RANKING THE ‘DOGS: The Top 5 winning percentages (Full-Season Clubs) in Minor League Baseball: Low-A Asheville 69-38 (.645), Low-A Savannah 66-37 (.641), Portland 69-40 (.633).
