The Sea Dogs open up a six-game roadtrip on Tuesday night against the Bowie Baysox from Prince George’s Stadium…LHP Brian Johnson, the Eastern League leader in ERA (2.05) makes his 17th start of the season…Bowie counters with lefty Tim Berry (5-7, 3.71) in 21 starts.  Speaking of Johnson, Kelly Johnson, who Boston acquired from the New York Yankees in exchange for Stephen Drew, will make a MLB Rehab Assignment tonight.

‘DOGS DOWN SOUTH: Portland opens up a six-game roadtrip on Tuesday night against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) from Prince George’s Stadium…The ‘Dogs are 0-2-2 in their last four road series – the last series victory on June 26-29 at Reading…Portland’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 13 games, and with Sunday’s victory, they clinched a winning record for the first time since 2008…LHP Brian Johnson, the league leader in ERA (2.05), makes his first career start against Bowie.

NICE FIRST IMPRESSION: LHP Eduardo Rodriguez tossed 5.1 innings on two hits, one run and seven strikeouts, leading the Sea Dogs to a 4-1 win over Trenton…Rodriguez made his organizational debut, after being acquired from Baltimore for LHP Andrew Miller…CF Shannon Wilkerson snapped a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single in the fifth, his first game-winning RBI of the season…3B Mike Miller went 2-for-2 with an RBI in two walks in his Double-A debut…RHP Noe Ramirez worked two scoreless frames to secure his 13th save of the season…RHP Dayan Diaz set up the save with 1.2 scoreless.

RANKING THE ‘DOGS: The Top 6 winning percentages (Full-Season Clubs) in Minor League Baseball: Low-A Savannah 70-38 (.648), Low-A Asheville 73-41 (.640), Low-A Greensboro 70-43 (.619), Low-A Kane County 70-42 (.625), Low-A Hagerstown 71-43 (.623) and Portland 72-44 (.621)…The Red Sox have the 6th best record as an organization in MiLB at 319-281 (.531).

NO CHANCE NOE: Ramirez has compiled a 2-0 record with a 1.73 ERA and is 13-for-13 in save opportunities (most saves in the Red Sox organization)…The righty has been scoreless in 24 of 33 outings and has not allowed a homer this season.

FOLLOW THE LEADER: LHP Henry Owens won his Triple-A debut last night for Pawtucket and leads all of professional baseball with 15 wins…Tonight’s starter Brian Johnson, has 12 wins between High-A Salem and Portland – tied for third in minor league baseball…11 of his 16 starts have been quality starts and 64% of his pitches have been strikes…In total, Johnson is 12-3 with a 2.45 ERA in 21 combined starts.

A FEW TIE-INS WITH THE OPPONENT: Bowie OF Ronald Bermudez played with Portland from 2011-13…OF Michael Yastrzemski is the grandson of Carl Yastrzemski…INF Niuman Romero appeared in 2 games with the Boston Red Sox in 2005 and appeared in 99 games with Pawtucket that same season…Chris Marrero is the cousin of Deven Marrero.
