The Sea Dogs take a three-day break from Maine, opening up a three-game series on Tuesday night against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) at New Britain Stadium.

RHP Mike Augliera makes the start for the Sea Dogs in the series opener, he has both Double-A wins against New Britain…LHP Taylor Rogers has struggled in both starts against Portland, going 0-2, 9.72 ERA (9 ER/8.1 IP) in 2 starts against Portland.

How about these numbers…Portland is 6-1 against New Britain this season, but hitting .335 against the ‘Cats, averaging 6.9 runs-per-game in the season series.

SHORT JOURNEY AWAY: The Sea Dogs take a break from Maine for only three days, opening up a three-game series against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins affiliate) at New Britain Stadium on Tuesday night…By winning Sunday, the ‘Dogs took 3 of 4 from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, and own the best record in the Eastern League…Portland makes their second attempt this week to 11 games .500 for the first time since August 20, 2008 when they were 69-58…The ‘Dogs are 7-1-3 in series in 2014.

CAN WE GET MUCH HEIKER: 3B Heiker Meneses capped off a four-run rally in the bottom of the ninth inning, delivering a walk-off RBI single, as the Sea Dogs beat the Fisher Cats 13-12 on Mother’s Day…Portland had a multi-hit game from seven of nine, including the top 5 hitters in the lineup – who combined to reach base 20 times…SS Deven Marrero reached base five times, going 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored…DH Carlos Rivero (3-for-5), 1B Travis Shaw (2-for-4, HR) and C Matt Spring all had 3 RBI…LHP Robby Scott worked a scoreless ninth inning to notch his fourth win of the season.
