Ryan Lavarnway continues his Major League Rehab Assignment with Portland, as the ‘Dogs take on the Binghamton Mets in the middle game of a three-game set on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field…With last night’s win, the ‘Dogs are now 4.5 games over the B-Mets for the top spot in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division.
RHP Luis Diaz tied a career-high with nine strikeouts against the B-Mets at NYSEG Stadium on July 10th, but took the loss, allowing just four runs (three earned) over 5.2 innings pitched.
Congrats to former Fisher Cat Aaron Sanchez on his call-up to the Toronto Blue Jays…Sanchez is expected to work out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays and could make his Major League debut against the Red Sox in tonight’s game.
