Happy Easter to all!

Fans are making their way through the gates at Hadlock Field on this Sunday afternoon…right now temps are in the 30’s and the mid is blowing out…should be an interesting day!

Some notes for you all!

The Sea Dogs and Connecticut Defenders wrap up their 4-game series with a 1:00
PM start on Easter Sunday…Today’s game is the only scheduled game in the
Eastern League due to the rest of the league opening their 2009 season on
Wednesday night…Portland remains home on Monday night to host the New Britain
Rock Cats (Twins affiliate)…The Connecticut Defenders continue their 7-game roadtrip
at New Hampshire before returning home on Thursday for their opener.

Portland dropped game three of the series on Saturday, 10–4 to the Defenders…RHP
Travis Beazley was roughed up in his
Double-A debut, surrendering six runs on seven hits in 4.2 IP…Beazley yielded
back-to-back homers to RF Eddy
and Adam Witter
in the fifth….Connecticut received 4 RBI from DH Andrew D’Alessio and 2 RBI from Martinez-Esteve and Witter…Portland’s
offense came right away in the first inning on 3B Jorge Jimenez’s 2-run single to left field…C Juan Apodaca added an RBI single and CF Josh Reddick blasted a solo-homer for the second straight game.

SAME TIME…SAME RESULT: Reddick has homered in consecutive games, both have
been solo shots to lead-off the eighth inning…The Georgia native has the only
home runs for the team and is 6-for-10 in his last two starts…1B Lars Anderson has hit safely in all
three starts, picking up an infield single in the first inning.

NOT MANY FREE PASSES: Portland’s bullpen had not issued a walk until Chad Rhoades and T.J. Large each issued a free pass in yesterday’s game…Rhoades
allowed three runs on three hits in 1.1 IP…Large went scoreless over 1.2 IP.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
